With the participation and support of local schools, AFS hopes that the education sector will use the intercultural exchange program as a means to spark students’ thinking and learning abilities, and improve their knowledge integration, analysis and decision-making skills in order to shed light on their future academic pursuits and direction in life.

The goals of intercultural exchange programs are as follows:

To enable participants to:
1. Explore Personal Values and Skills – The exchange programs allow participants to step out of their comfort zone, tackle difficulties of various degrees, and develop their problem-solving abilities.

2. Establish Interpersonal Relationships – By expanding their social circle overseas and making friends of different nationalities, they can enhance their interpersonal communication skills and establish rich social networks.

3. Enhance General Learning Skills – Participants will invariably be exposed to a wider range of knowledge and issues. By accumulating experience of language use and life skills, they can refine their analytical ability to take into account different perspectives.

4. Expand International Perspective – The international exchange experience comprises of academic study, life skills training and social interaction, thus providing an appropriate enlightening experience for youth in an international context.
