What are the programs details?

As each program differs in duration, content and age criteria, please contact the AFS office for a detailed description on each program.

What is the fee and what does it include?

Participation fees vary depending on the type of program and location. All fees include medical costs, AFS orientation, and program materials, food and lodging are provided by voluntary host family. AFS participants will live with host families selected by AFS. The family homestay provides an opportunity to learn first-hand about the culture as well as to enhance language ability. Visa fees and travel costs are the expense of the participant.

What are the requirements for acceptance?

The AFS Educators Programs are offered to teachers aged 21 to 60 years old (dependent on various programs). For the academic year-long program, the teachers must be teaching full-time in a primary or secondary accredited educational institutions. In addition, they must meet the qualifications for teaching in primary or secondary schools and have a minimum of three years of teaching or related professional experience in order to be accepted into the program. Teachers need to have academic qualification on Education such as Certificate in Education; Diploma in Education or Bachelor in Education. Teachers should be flexible and motivated for the experience. Teachers are required to attend selection interviews and orientation before departure.
